To: The Hon. Mr. Donald J. Trump
President of the United States of America, Republic
Subject: Appeal for Moratorium and National Reconsideration – Trump v. Barbara
Opening Appeal
Greetings, Mr. President — Shalom,
As a United States Federalized citizen, I write to you with a deep sense of responsibility at this pivotal hour in our nation’s history. I speak not only for myself, but on behalf of a long-silent body within We the People—those whose citizenship was forged in the crucible of chattel slavery and codified through the Civil Rights Act of 1866, including what is commonly understood today as birthright citizenship.
In the Holy Name of Jesus/Yeshua, whom you have publicly professed as Lord and Savior, and within the moral framework of this Judaic-rooted, Christian nation under GOD, I respectfully appeal to you to consider a moratorium on the case of Trump v. Barbara, in coordination with all relevant parties, including the American Civil Liberties Union and the United States Department of Justice, pending a deeper national and constitutional reckoning.
The Core Concern
This appeal is not made in opposition to your stated intent to address what you have identified as abuses of birthright citizenship. Rather, it arises from concern that the current legal trajectory—whether preserving or restricting that custom—may further obscure the original constitutional and statutory intent of citizenship as established for the formerly enslaved.
From the era of slavery through Reconstruction and beyond, those now known as Freedmen were systematically denied literacy, often under threat of violence or death. This reality extended well into the post-slavery era, delaying their ability to fully understand and exercise their constitutional identity.
Even landmark rulings such as Brown v. Board of Education came generations later, leaving a profound gap in civic awareness and constitutional participation. As a result, for more than 150 years, many Federal citizens have remained disconnected from the full meaning and authority of their citizenship—an issue acknowledged in part by H.R. 194, the Congressional Apology for Slavery and Jim Crow.
Judicial Drift and Constitutional Risk
Based on ongoing research, it appears that from The Slaughter-House Cases through United States v. Wong Kim Ark and beyond, judicial interpretation has gradually drifted from the original legislative intent of the Civil Rights Act of 1866. Over time, custom has taken root where law once stood clearly defined, particularly in matters of citizenship.
At present, the Court stands at risk of rendering a decision that may once again redefine citizenship without fully restoring or even acknowledging the original Subject Beneficiaries of that law.
A Call for National Pause and Illumination
Mr. President, there is simply too much at stake to proceed without first bringing the American people—especially those most directly affected—into full awareness. I therefore respectfully propose a temporary moratorium on Trump v. Barbara, accompanied by a limited national awareness initiative and a coordinated effort between the Executive Branch, Congress, and the Court, with moral support from all appropriate institutions.
Such an effort would clarify the original intent and scope of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, illuminate the constitutional identity and authority of Federal citizens, and provide the knowledge necessary for an informed national understanding.
Toward True Reconciliation and National Strength
What is being proposed is not reparations in the traditional sense, but something far deeper: the restoration of knowledge, identity, and lawful authority. Such an action would advance genuine racial healing, bring clarity to the immigration debate, strengthen the moral and constitutional foundation of the Republic, and allow all parties—domestic and international—to align with truth without coercion.
This can be achieved without targeting any group, but rather by turning on the light of knowledge and understanding regarding those upon whose enslaved backs this nation was built.
As Scripture reminds us, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” and “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Closing Appeal
Mr. President, this moment presents not only a legal challenge, but a historic opportunity—one that may help define your legacy in restoring constitutional clarity and national unity. We stand ready to work with you in this effort.
May GOD bless you with wisdom, courage, and discernment in this hour.
Respectfully,
On behalf of the emerging voice of Federal citizens within We the People
Ted Hayes
