“Good Friday Peace Accord” The Nobel Peace Prize

LETTER: Adams – Nobel Peace Prize

Mr. Gerry Adams, greetings and Shalom!
Several years ago, in honor of your and Mr. McGuiness, et al, leadership, that day at Stormont,
I sought to nominate you for the Noble Peace Prize, as well as Mo Mowlam, and HRH Prince Edward, now Duke of Edinburgh.

The Nobel Committee responded, that it had just awarded the 1998 Prize to Mr. Trimble and Mr. Hume
…for their “Good Friday Peace Accord” work, which you were the most significant part, yet not an awardee.

Though sympathetic and understanding of the nomination, but too close to the Prize being previously
…awarded to Northern Ireland in 1998, the contribution of Adams and McGuiness was bypassed.

Several other mentioned candidates also also excluded, including the late, Mo Mowland, the process initiator.

Albeit, perhaps, sometime in the future!

Therefore, it remains my intent to nominate you again, et al, to the Nobels Committee for your
…dangerous and courageous in so many ways, made a finishing and lasting gesture that day on Stormont.

Sir, a splendid documentary has been produced about this matter,
…and if you like, I will send it to you.

Please see: https://tedhayes.us/big3/

Perhaps, Now is the time to further cultivate the work of the Good Friday of Christ
…The Prince of Shaloms’ name sakes  “Accord” for generations to come, emulated by all nations.

Hence, “Peace On Earth. Good Will Toward All Human Beings” (GOD)

Though overlooked by the Nobel Committee, you stately and graciously endorsed the Accord process emphasizing…
…“the importance of the positive contributions to the peace process made by other Northern Irish leaders”.

The Committee Chair stated, ”We don’t shy away from anybody. We just try to pick the most worthy people”,
…and Mr. Adams, he said, was ‘‘clearly one of those who has contributed significantly to the process so far.’

Stalling and Freezing of the Accord Processes
After making unprecedented progress in the signed April 10, 1998, Good Friday Peace Accord negotiation,
…it stalled and “froze” due to a splinter group exploding a bomb, killing 39 individuals,
…thereby creating a 14-year atmosphere of distrust between the negotiating factions.

Then in October 1999, at great risk, you and Mr. McGuiness implemented “cross-sports”, political diplomacy,
…to thaw the frozen peace process.

Reason For The Prize Now
The most poignant moment depicts the high level of trust and hope for peace the two of you exhibited
…because of all factions, you bore the greatest risks in so many dangerous ways, should failure occur.

Other factions had risks in this gesture, but yours was the riskiest,
…as it went against the many generations of Northern Irish Roman Catholics
…understandably negative view and disdain of Cricket, being similar to that
…of the British, Union Jack flag as a symbol of the “British oppressor”.

For the sake of your people, the two of you courageously risked losing their trust,
…particularly should the strategic gesture have failed.  It didn’t fail. I worked!

This was an unthinkable gesture of peace that nobody expected to ever occur,
…was/is done in such an unexpected way, now lasting 25, beautiful years.

For the sake of peace, you risked everything, including your very life,
…which is why you deserve to be honored with the Nobel Peace Prize.
