Sir, this is Ted Hayes, US American, social activists of homelessness resolution and Civil Rights, white-black racial healing in America, based in Los Angeles, CA.
In respect to your schedule must be, I am compelled to contact you and HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh to invite participate a venture very much in your interest, the Royal Household of Windsor, as well a the populations of England and British Commonwealth, via the Grand Ole’ Cricket sport.
Your Los Angeles Visit
In October of 1994, just over 29 years ago, you visited Los Angeles, South Central district viewing various programs benefiting the disadvantaged, including homelessness.
Before your arrival, the then British Consul General, the very popular, late, Mr. Merrick Baker Bates, informed the Home Office, that of the Duke of Edinburg Trust, as well a your own about the unprecedented, innovative and transformative Dome Village for the homeless in downtown LA, created in November of 1993, by several of my colleagues and me.
You conducted a “full house” meeting in the LA Library Auditorium, in which you reviewed all the great places you visited, we were seated in the upper deck.
Post showing pictures of the Dome Village, of all the wonderful dignitaries, to my great surprise, you singled me out alone to stand to be acknowledged for my work.
To say the least, I was “gob smacked”, as was everyone else.
During the reception, you graciously approach, right hand extended, shook mine, with thanks me, and we held a brief conversation with hopes of someday meeting again.
Let me describe myself:
Six feet, two inches, dark skinned American African, sporting dread locks, with the accompanying reggae head dress, and donned in all white clothing. Stand out! Please see attached pics and newspaper article.
Approximately 11 months earlier, again, via the advice of Mr. Baker-Bates, also when visiting LA, the then HRH, Prince Edward, personally visited Dome Village.
Within my personal dome, accompanied by with British expatriate, Ms. Katy Habor, MBE, (my Dome Village manager), Merrick Baker-Bates, and Edward’s equerry, Mr. Sean O’Dwyer, your he invited us to visit him in Buckingham Palace.

In the summer of 1995, the Prince Edward became the primary sponsor of our unprecedented, first, American-born Cricket team since 1926, primarily consisting of American African, US black, homeless citizen residents of Dome Village, dubbed, the LA Krickets, toured England in September 1995 in exhibition play.
HRH Edward also endorsed our second all American-born Cricket Team entitled, “Homies & the POPz” of the Compton Cricket Club (CCC), primarily consisting of Hispanic-Latino-Mexican teenage boys, a few black homeless men of Dome Village, invited the, to his Buckingham Palace apartment, and to play the Windsor Castle team at your HRH, The Queen’s Cricket pitch, and hosted a reception party for at her club house there. No doubt, the Duke of Edinburg will recall this great, monumental moment.
In all, the Homies & the POPz made two journeys to England, and one to Australia in 2011.
Of greater note:
In September 1999, on our second England journey, we visited Belfast, Northern Ireland.
With the proper consent protocols, including, that of then Secretary of State for/to Northern Ireland, the great, legendary, late, the Hon. Ms. Mo Mowlam (May 3,1997-October 1999), indeed the initiator and unsung heroine of this whole grand story, plus with the approval from the Northern Ireland’s Sinn Fein political party, the then MP, the Hon. Mr. Gerry Adams, and the late, Mr. Martin McGuinness, later, Assist Deputy Prime Minister, we successfully entered into the affairs of the stalled, due to mistrust, 1998 “Good Friday Peace Agreement”, and surprisingly moved it forward to completion.
With national media present, at Stormont, in cross sport diplomacy, on behalf of the British, we presented Mr. Adams and Mr. McGuinness a Cricket bat and ball, and from the leaders of the Ulster Unionist Party, an Irish hurley stick. To everyone surprised delight, it worked, in January of 2,000, the “Good Friday Peace Accord” was unfrozen. This verifiable via the Home Office.
For their good and courageous work, we would like to someday have them awarded the Noble Peace Prize as an example of political courage. See attached news clips and videos, etc.
The Nature of My Call For Help
Your family has always expressed concerning interest in the state of affairs for American African, US black citizens’ plight in America, Britain’s former Colony, as noted by your visits, etc.
In spring and summer of 2020, though not thoroughly knowing the situation in America, but recognizing the generations of dire stresses here in the USA, the world yelled, “Black Lives Matter”, albeit, thus far though, to no avail.
Along with being the disproportion, that is, 11-12% of the general population, black citizens lead all other ethno-racial identities of this great country, in nearly every negative, national, social statistics, particular as the two most visible, are:
- homelessness at over 60% of homeless persons;
- according to the US Department of Justice (DOD), annually, circa 7,500, young black boys and men violently die by gunfire from the hands of young, black boys and men. Ironically, a silent genocide, as it seems that nobody knows what to do about it.
Sir, knowing the Royal Family’s sincere concerns for us, also being once the Empire’s chattel slaves (living human property) from 1619 until 1776 when my ancestors were transitioned in the jurisdiction of the USA, of 157 years, and being combined with the succeeding 89 years, totaling 245, having generational consequences to this day, you can now partner with us to save the descendants of your former subjects, from a trending to total annihilation.
Recognizing my unique, 38 years in societal transforming activism; the now legendary Dome Village; the Cricket teams, and especially the great success of in the “Good Friday Peace Accord”, I/we would humbly request, with great hope, that the KING of Kings, Jesus Christ, would grant you, the King of England, the strengthening grace of wise foresight to again endorse, without a financial grant, our new Cricket Venture.
As the whole Cricket worlds have been eagerly awaiting it, its our long held desire to field the CCC’s first, all American African-black team, as the inspirational engine to help resolve the critical and threatening matters of America’s US, black lives. Please see attached proposal.
Mind you, sir, we are not seeking financial support , as your good name is far more precious than millions of donated dollars.
Your Majesty, wherever, ASAP, you deem it best, I am willing to travel to England to visit explain to you the details benefiting your glorious reign, as well as our righteously noble intentions for America and the world via the Grand Ole’ English Game of Cricket,
