All well-constructed buildings, edifices, etc., must have invisible, underground, substructure foundations, some of which are weak, others super strong, depending on their visible, superstructure edifice.
The same holds true with plants, particularly trees, having their visible, above-ground size is determined by the mass of its sub-under-ground structure of roots.

While the January 1, 1863, Emancipation Proclamation is the foundation of The Triad Amendments, including the 1870-1871 Enforcement or Anti-KKK Acts of the Triad Amendments, It is founded on the 1871-1872 Confiscation Acts, which permanently placed American African, chattel slaves, today’s federalized, black citizens of the exclusive, federal super citizenship status.
Unlike all other American citizens, who are of willing immigration heritage, black citizens, being that of unwilling chattel slavery, stand on the greatest foundation of freedom and powers of any people in world history.
