Re: Restoration of the Abraham Lincoln Statue, For The January 1,1863, Emancipation Proclamation “National Commemoration Day”
Greetings Ms. Hahan, Shalom!
On behalf of our co-chairs, James Spencer, US military veteran (Marines), community advocate residing in Inglewood, and Shai Abishoor of LIRM (Love Is Real Movement), Mr. Earl Ofari Hutchenson, LA Urban Policy Roundtable, along with our fellow participants, we are calling upon you to lead the effort for the restoration and protection of the Abrham Lincoln Monument at 110 Grand Street, corner of First and Grand Streets.
In honor and memory of your late dad, LA County Supervisor, Kenneth Hahn, righteously dubbed, “The Abraham Lincoln of LA County”, as body politic of We the People, its our request that you have the Abraham Lincoln Stature refurbished, and protected with anti-graffiti coat paint.
Presently, while being registered with the National Day of Archives (NDA) as the civilian initiated, National of “Emancipation Proclamation”, we are also campaigning to have the January 1,1863, Emancipation Proclamation, issued by President Lincoln, Congressionally legislated and designated as a National Commemoration Day, celebrated on New Year’s Day.
On this past Monday, January 1,2024, New Year’s Day, our body hosted the first such occasion since its enactment 161, in which we official launched the campaign with the intention of its rapid passage by the end of March, in time to commemorate the April 4,1968 assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., and that of the April 14th of President Lincoln.

Our delegation would like a meeting to discuss this matter with you asap, as we prefer the restoration be completed for our next assembly at the statue monument on February 11,2024, at 2:00 pm, “Black History Month”, celebrating the birthdate of the February 12,1809 birthday of Abraham Lincoln.
We await your rapid response, and hopefully, full cooperation, partnership and leadership in this matter, as I believe you dad will be pleased about this.
