LOS ANGELES 2028: THE CCC CRICKET AD-VENTURE

Detailed program and historical supporting brief | October 13, 2026

Another “Straight Outta Compton” to the World

Purpose and current position

This attachment explains the proposed program behind Compton Cricket Club’s sponsorship offer. CCC seeks founding partners for a new team, international exhibition tours, original media content, and independent cricket activities in Compton leading toward and during the 2028 Olympic period. The next-generation team has not yet been assembled. Recruitment and delivery depend on resources, coaching, facilities, and confirmed arrangements.

The business opportunity

Partners may negotiate presenting recognition, apparel and event placement, original branded content, customer promotions, merchandise collaborations, and hospitality at CCC events. Recruitment and training can form the first chapters of the campaign. Pricing, audiences, deliverables, measurement, and any category exclusivity will be specified in writing; no sponsorship prices or media valuations have yet been established.

Program identity

Ted Hayes and Katy Haber’s Homies & the POPz legacy provides the foundation. The proposed team will recruit American-born Black boys and men from the Los Angeles region with at least one parent descended from people enslaved in the United States. Cross-generational mentoring will connect heritage, cricket skills, citizenship, and goodwill. Historical records or sincere participant testimony may inform heritage identification where records are unavailable; personal ancestry information should remain private unless participants choose otherwise.

Mission

Peace on Earth. Goodwill toward all human beings. Players will learn truthful conduct, respect, teamwork, patience, and generosity toward opponents. A shared heritage provides the initial focus; exhibitions welcome fellowship with people of every background.

Olympic context

Cricket returns to the Olympic Games in 2028. LA28 identifies the Fairgrounds Cricket Stadium in Pomona as its cricket venue [1]. CCC’s Compton program is independent of LA28. This proposal does not provide Olympic venue access, official Olympic marks, broadcast placement, or official sponsorship rights.

PROGRAM DELIVERY

Recruitment, training, exhibitions, and Compton activities

1. Fund and organize the launch

Define the contracting organization, responsible officers, initial budget, training location, coaching personnel, recruitment approach, and sponsor deliverables. Set realistic recruitment and tour readiness milestones. Confirm insurance, participant consent, youth supervision, and travel responsibilities before participation begins.

2. Recruit and introduce the players

Invite prospective participants from Compton, South Central, and the wider Los Angeles region. Explain time commitments, heritage focus, expected conduct, and what the funded program can provide. Select a manageable roster based on available resources; roster size, ages, and selection dates remain to be determined. Arrange sponsor introductions after selection, with participant consent.

3. Train for exhibition competence

Teach batting, bowling, fielding, wicketkeeping, running between wickets, scoring, umpire signals, and safe play. Use supervised drills and practice matches to assess readiness. Pair adult mentors with younger participants. The intended standard is enjoyable exhibition competition against comparable teams, rather than immediate professional performance.

4. Prepare the first international exhibition tour

February 2027 is the proposed target, not a confirmed departure. Australia or the Caribbean remains under consideration. Select the destination after host, budget, travel, weather, and player readiness review. An Australian season-long promotion is a proposed strategy requiring host and venue agreements; February should not be described as the end of every Australian professional competition.

5. Extend the international campaign

Seek prearranged matches and community encounters in cricket-playing nations. Agree opponents, match formats, venues, media responsibilities, hospitality, and safeguarding with each host. Village-style matches of approximately 20–30 overs are a concept to negotiate. Celebrate both teams after each match. Presidential commissions, State Department arrangements, royal visits, and institutional endorsements remain ambitions requiring separate confirmation.

6. Develop independent Compton activities for 2028

Propose demonstrations explaining cricket’s mechanics, exhibitions, community encounters, and possible return matches with overseas hosts. A venue concept includes a small grandstand, portable bleachers, restrooms, parking, and hospitality space. Site control, capacity, accessibility, operating costs, permits, financing, and construction remain unresolved. Identify a suitable existing venue as a fallback if a new facility is unavailable.

Beyond 2028

Possible later development includes girls’ and women’s teams, school and mixed teams, celebrity CricketBall leagues, cultural exchange, and merchandise. These are expansion concepts, not commitments funded by the initial launch

PARTNERSHIP DELIVERY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

A staged agreement with defined business benefits

Launch milestones

Stage A: approved launch scope and budget. Stage B: recruited roster and confirmed coaching/practice arrangements. Stage C: training progress and local exhibition readiness. Stage D: host agreements, costed itinerary, travel documentation, and departure decision. Further funding should follow agreed milestones. The contract should address postponement, substituted activities, unspent funds, and undelivered benefits.

Budget framework

Prepare supplier-backed costs for coaching; facilities; equipment and uniforms; local transport; insurance; recruitment and administration; travel documentation; flights and baggage; lodging and meals; overseas transport; host and venue costs; content production; communications; and contingency. Separate launch, tour, 2028 events, and capital construction budgets. Record cash and in-kind support separately. No total funding requirement is asserted until quotations and scope are complete.

Sponsor inventory

For each benefit, identify the asset, location, frequency, audience, duration, production responsibility, and approval process. Specify logo size and placement; number and format of videos; appearances; hospitality capacity; merchandise rights; and permitted use of player likenesses. CCC must secure rights before promising third-party footage, music, photographs, venues, or endorsements.

Measurement

Agree baseline audiences and reporting intervals. Report delivered content, views with date/platform context, engagement, event attendance, links or promotional-code responses, inquiries, and independently verified press placements. Deduplicate coverage where possible. Separate paid advertising, sponsor-owned distribution, and earned editorial coverage. Do not equate historical coverage with future reach or treat publicity value as sales revenue.

Participant care and stewardship

For minors, establish guardian consent, appropriate supervision, safeguarding leads, travel permissions, emergency plans, and conduct expectations. Document attendance, mentoring participation, and development without exposing private ancestry or sensitive histories. Maintain spending records and a named contact for partner reporting.

Before external commitments

Confirm organizational and banking details; budget and financial authority; roster and coaching plans; insurance; host arrangements; content permissions; benefit inventory; and contingencies. Foundation grant eligibility and equity investment terms require distinct arrangements from commercial sponsorship. The initial offer is a sponsorship discussion, not an equity investment offering.

HISTORICAL SUPPORT

Public references and materials to assemble

This brief identifies supporting references; it does not reproduce or attach the original letters, photographs, contracts, or films. Founder recollections are distinguished below from externally documented facts.

Documentary recognition

PBS credits Joanne Shen’s Cricket Outta Compton and reports that it aired on PBS and won first prize at the Black Maria Film Festival [2]. This supports documentary recognition. The correct credit is Joanne Shen, rather than Joan Chen; the cited award is Black Maria, rather than National Black Media Awards.

Broadcast storytelling

Journeyman Pictures lists Cricket Therapy as an SBS Australia production from 2011, running 11 minutes 36 seconds [3]. Its licensing page distinguishes private viewing from screening permission. This is a separate production from Shen’s film. Sponsor reuse requires permission.

International tour and media archive

CCC’s news archive lists coverage associated with the 2011 Australian tour and earlier reporting, including links attributed to BBC, ABC Australia, Associated Press, ESPN, TIME, NBC Los Angeles, and Trans World Sport [4]. It is a club-maintained discovery index; individual stories must be checked and preserved before being used as supporting exhibits. Some links are inactive. The index demonstrates leads, not a quantified audience or complete media inventory.

Olympic family connection

UCLA announced Joanna Hayes as Director of Track & Field/Cross Country in June 2024 and identifies her Olympic background [5]. Her Athens 2004 gold was in the 100-meter hurdles. Any CCC promotional participation by Joanna or use of UCLA branding requires a separate agreement; her family relationship does not establish institutional endorsement.

Founder materials awaiting collection

Ted Hayes reports prior Windsor Castle staff matches, Prince Edward’s support, honorary life membership at Hambledon for Ted and Katy, Lord’s press conferences, and presidential correspondence. Collect originals before finalizing dates, scope, quotation, or endorsement language. Distinguish financial contributions from letters, introductions, patronage, and honorary recognition.

Northern Ireland sports diplomacy

Ted reports CCC’s encounter with Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness and letters from President Bill Clinton supporting and subsequently congratulating the effort. These records and the supplied documentary lead should establish the encounter and correspondence. A claim that CCC broke a peace-process stalemate requires independent contemporary evidence of causation. Verify the visit date: the Good Friday Agreement was signed in 1998, but that does not itself date the CCC visit.

Film and other documentary projects

Ted describes a feature-film project in development and historical Disney involvement. Obtain dated contracts, rights correspondence, and current producer confirmation before describing an active Disney production. Collect credits and copies for Heal America and the Monica Magyarosy documentary. Do not call a project a completed film or promise publicity from it without confirmation.

EVIDENCE EXHIBITS AND SOURCE REGISTER

A practical checklist for the historical packet

E01 — Tour chronology: distinguish the Los Angeles Krickets from CCC; reconcile years and trip counts using itineraries, match records, passports where appropriate, and dated coverage.

E02 — Sponsor record: prior agreements, acknowledgments, receipts, and in-kind support; record the sponsor, tour, nature of support, and permitted reference.

E03 — Royal correspondence: Prince Edward letters and photographs; verify dates, signatory, scope, and reproduction permission. Past recognition is not current royal sponsorship.

E04 — Presidential correspondence: Clinton support and congratulations letters; preserve full text, dates, letterhead, and any restrictions.

E05 — Belfast encounter: original footage, photographs, broadcaster/date, visit itinerary, and correspondence. User-supplied video lead: https://youtu.be/xmmLbGdwGKM (contents not verified in this packet).

E06 — Hambledon and MCC: membership letters, invitations, match records, and Lord’s press-conference records. MCC and Hambledon are separate institutions; MCC is not the governing board for all England cricket.

E07 — Documentary credits: film title, producer/director, release date, award confirmation, rights owner, viewing link, and screening or promotional permissions.

E08 — Press samples: select five to ten strong items across tours and years; retain outlet, title, author, publication date, stable link or lawful copy, and specific supported claim.

E09 — Competition record: league results and trophy documentation. Do not claim historical “most famous,” “most traveled,” or “first” rankings without comparative evidence.

E10 — Film-development status: current dated confirmation identifying producer, rights status, stage, and authorized public wording.
