“Behold, I will make
Jerusalem a cup of trembling to all the people round about, when they shall be
in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day, I will
make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the people: all that burden themselves
with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered
together against it”
(Zechariah 12:2,3)
When the Most High divided the
nations their inheritance, when HE separated the sons of Adam, HE set the bounds of
the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
For the LORD's portion is HIS people
Israel; Jacob is the lot of HIS inheritance.
HE found him in a desert land, and in
the waste howling wilderness, HE led him about, HE instructed him, HE kept him
as the Apple of HIS Eye.

Keep me as the apple of Your Eye,
hide me under the shadow of Your wing,
(Psalms 17:8)
Their heart cried to the LORD, "O
wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night:
give yourself no rest; let not the Apple of Your Eye cease."

For this says the LORD of Hosts,
"After the glory has HE sent Me to the nations which have spoiled you: for he
that touches you, touches the Apple of MY Eye"

"And it shall come to
pass in the last days, that the mountains of the LORD's House shall be
established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills;
and all nations shall flow to it. And many people shall go and say, 'Come
you, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the House of the GOD of
Jacob; and HE will teach us HIS ways, and we will walk in HIS paths: for out of
Zion shall go forth the Law, and the Word of the LORD from
Jerusalem."
