The Skate Boogie-Dance Show for The Zer0 %-homeless

National Plan & National-Global End Homelessness day

Saturday, May 4,2013 3:00 to 5:30 PM

The Narrative

Known as a world class city, and capital of many business industries and cultures, primarily that of entertainment, i.e., Hollywood, multi-ethnicity, even considered the “Pearl of the Pacific Rim”, tragically it is also, the Ground Zer0 of homelessness.

This Presidential implementation Plan begins in Los Angeles which includes a united cooperation of the whole community, regardless of political persuasion, race, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, class, etc, but rather based on the unique, dramatic, but tragic experience of a certain demographic of homeless peoples, i.e. African American, Black, Negro (Spanish for black), Colored peoples (US Constitutional term), descendants of chattel slaves, Jim Crow Survivors and their children.

·        African-Americans are 11% of the general population of this “nation of willing immigrants” yet, as descendants of chattel slaves (unwilling immigrants) they are over 60% (not counting the scattered Katrina victims)

·        Of all US Military Veterans in shelters (visible), over 34% are African-American.

This Plan helps to generate national narrative for the sake of healing and unity in a house that has been too long “a divided against itself!”

By the disciplined and patient principle of triage of beginning with African-Americans, especially those who are US Military Veterans, all homeless peoples and those concerned will subsequently reap benefits as a result of it throughout Earth beginning with Los Angeles, USA.

Since the winter season of 1984-85, when the Homeless Organizing Team (HOT) erected the first, historic, iconic Tent City for the homeless in downtown Los Angeles and hundreds of millions of public and private dollars have been raised and spent around the national embarrassment homelessness in this world class city is far worse than ever.

Statistics:

[waiting on homelessness stats for Los Angeles]

The Beginning – January 1985

Birthed out of the Tent City was the legendary, Civil and Human Rights entity known as Justiceville, USA, founded by America’s most poignant, homeless activist, Ted Hayes, who also happens to the “Black” person, i.e., descendant of the nations’ Chattel Slaves (African-American)

A Federal Government Project

In the 27 years of activism, JUSA, was able to create and operate the most innovative, forward thinking, 21st Century remedy to homelessness known as The National Plan To End Homeless which is primarily owned by US taxpayers and housed in the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), via the Continuum of Care project.

The Cold-Wet Weather Program

As with all of its concepts such as the “Cold-Wet Weather Program” formerly known as “Operation You Took Me In” (YTMI)  JUSA launched the Dome Village, initially known as Genesis I (* indicating that such is just the beginning) was an initial step towards the objective of ending homelessness, at least minimizing its ravages.

Met The HUD Requirements

Against, intended odds, lasting 13 successful years (1993-2007) in downtown Los Angeles, the Dome Village which embodied the National Homeless Plan, demonstrated itself to fit all the requirements that HUD demanded under the 1987 Stuart B. McKinney Act to end homelessness, as well as that of the Continuum of Care beginning in 1995.

The Event Is Not A Fundraiser

This event is not a fundraiser, nor is it awareness for homelessness, but rather to move the respective authorities in public and private sectors, including the religious, to adopt and implement the National Plan To End Homelessness.

The Athletic Talents

The Skate Boogie-Dance Show at the Concrete Pond, features the legendary, Venice Beach Skaters who feel morally compelled to utilize their GOD-given talents for the sake of others who are the most vulnerable human beings in our societies!

The Whole World Is Watching

As it is performed on the world-renown, Venice Beach, it lends itself to being a global event from the world class city of Los Angeles, California.

In light of the reality, that of the 7 billion human beings on earth, of the 6.5 billion who suffer abject poverty, over 2 ˝ billion are homeless, dwelling in either refugee camps, or literally without shelter.

This event being performed on Venice Beach,

The NHP is a “think globally-act locally” idea, whereby the success of America in this matter of homelessness provides a working model for all nations of the world.

As Los Angeles is the Homelessness Capital of the United States, with the whole world watching, our beloved city can indeed become one that is a light set up a hill in this matter. We naturally become the model to lead the way for all nations.
